"BioActive was a great effort at launching a service company to
meet the needs of physicians wiling to treat patients with cellular
therapies, namely platelet-rich-plasma, or autologous platelet gel.
During four years of operation, over 120 patient with 200 chronic wounds
were treated with a 90% positive response rate and 60% closure rate.
Patients were also successfully treated having pressure ulcers, compound
fractures, skin grafts, MRSA infections, and degenerative joint disease.
Sustainable revenues could not be maintained and venture funding to
reach a critical mass sufficient to influence medi-cal coverage policies
could not be secured. Business operations ended in August, 2008.
However, knowledge about cellular technology use to treat disease and
cellular pharmacy practice is being shared through professional lectures
and a growing affiliate base at
